1987 Porsche 944 Turbo – Grey

I have a soft spot for the Porsche 944 Turbo. To me they were the Porsche to own when I was a kid. Not the older, stodgy 911. Its only today, as an adult, that I fully understand the mis-love and scorn the Porsche 944 caused for Porsche owners in the 80’s. It was a front-engine, 4 cylinder car, and water cooled at that. So of course the 911 guys hated it. But the Porsche 944 handled like a dream and with the turbo-charged engine it was as fast (or even faster) then the top of the line Porsche 911 Turbo. We’ll talking about the famous Porsche 944 Turbo S of course.

But what we have here is a standard Porsche 944 Turbo from 1987. Now standard is an misnomer cause this car still had 217 hp and only had to move 2800 lbs to get going. Think about it, 217 hp and 2800 lbs, and perfect weight distribution. Sounds good, right?

In this case, this car is an enthusiast car and seem to be taken care of properly. The owner says he uses it for autocross and track events, which is fine for a car like this. Personally, I don’t think it would be good as a daily driver, and motor-sports should be the best use of a car like this. That and beautiful weekend drives thru twisty mountain roads.

The car comes with unique (ugly maybe, can I say that) OZ wheels. I would definitely buy a pair of phone dial wheels or the beautiful Turbo S cup wheels to go with this Turbo.

But the best thing is the price. For under 10k, you can’t get a car with this sort of performance and cache. But as the Seller mentions in his ad, its not a toy. It will offer a bunch of performance that not the everyday Honda driver will be able to handle.

If interested, definitely reach out to the Seller. Car is located in Conn.
