1991 Porsche 928 S4 in blue

The Porsche 928 was supposed to replace the Porsche 911 in the Porsche lineup. Now we all know that never happened but the Porsche 928 did hang around for over 10 years, starting in the late 70’s and ending its run with the incredible Porsche 928 GTS in the mid 1990s.

When new, the Porsche 928 was an incredible grand cruiser, with enough hp and torque to get going but with enough luxury you wrap you in a leather cocoon. This version is the S4, which was an upgrade from 1987 and up. With 360 hp, this car was fast during its time. 0-50 in 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 175 mph – which btw was the fastest top speed in its day. We’ll talking about a grand cruiser.

This particular model is a very low mileage one, with only 63,000 miles on the odometer. It has a very nice blue exterior color and comes with chrome OEM wheels. Chrome was big in the 1990s but looks very dated now. The biggest downfall in our mind is the automatic transmission. The 928 came with a 5-speed manual but most cars were purchased with the automatic. While not horrible, it doesn’t exactly ring out the maximum performance of that lovely water-cooled V8 engine up in front.
